Trending content filter on news feed.
Trending content widget.
We need an algorithm to determine what is "trending", we can apply this in various places.
Use a search provider for enhanced searching
^^^
Thinking about elastic search.
We should be able to use the full capacity of elastic searches facilities.
Extend the search system
I'd like to extend the search system to other static content too, including the help pages.
Importers
Need to consider importers

Custom smilies, too
Emoji is nice, but we should be able to add some classic custom smilies, too. Bit of fun from the past. Old school animated gif smilies and such π
Expand who is online
Limit the list of avatars of online users to 20.
Make the block show "robots" and "guests" aswell as a member count.
Make a "View more" link which shows
View more link shows a paginated list of users / guests / robots with filter tabs
This list shows the page the user is viewing (if permission to see) or a generic "viewing a forum" / "viewing a thread" message if no permission.
Ticket thread type
For a few forums this could make sense, a forum where members can't view each other's threads, the thread is formatted to put the issue front and centre and responses from staff and client can be documented cleanly. Seems sensible for support forums, but others, too.
Random idea
If we're going hosted, single sign-on/network accounts
If we are doing hosted/SaaS, we should offer the option for accounts to be single forum or network/single sign-on accounts to work on any installation. Easy sign up, easy access for all.
Time / timestamp on feed posts?
This one's a maybe/maybe not situation, but should there be a time/timestamp on feed entries? Let people see if entries are new since their last visit?

Boring background jobs
Need a cron manager to schedule boring cleanup tasks such as recount totals, clean up orphaned attachments, etc.
We should also be able to manually run any of the boring background jobs.
Mobile / Web App Issues
In mobile / web app view we lose access to the following:
Login / Register for logged out users
Light/Dark toggle for everybody
A gaping hole because i'm an idiot
We cannot add subforums. Or sub-sub forums. Or sub-sub-sub forums. Or sub-sub-sub-sub forums.

Permissions are missing for categories.
As a refactor, maybe categories are better served as nodes - but only containers.
That would mean you could set permissions of the category and any children nodes could auto inherit their parent.
Users tagged in forums they can't access still get notified of those tags

Minor permission hiccup, tested and perms are working fine, so far, everywhere else.
Naturally viewing a piece of content should autoRead notifications
Naturally viewing a piece of content should autoRead notifications
It is written in to the code to do this, unsure at this moment why it fails silently. Will do some digging.
